Lighting is a very important aspect of any home. There are many different types of electrical lighting fixtures that can be used to produce the type of light you need. Usually you will find incandescent lighting the most popular. Flourescent lighting is probably the next common. Lets examine the simplest light fixture available for starters.

These lights have a label that will tell you the maximum bulb wattage plus the type of bulb. You should follow these safety labels and not exceed the prescribed wattage.

Flourescent light fixtures are another thing. First off, the majority of these fixtures will be long and skinny, although other shapes of flourescent bulbs are available. You see these used mostly in retail and commercial uses. They do, however, make great lights for workrooms, offices, garage and other areas of your home.
