Monthly Check List

• Water Heater - drain one or two gallons of water from the valve located on the bottom of the unit. This will remove sediment from the bottom of the tank.
• Smoke Alarms - test smoke alarms using a lit cigarette or cotton cord held approximately threee inches from the unit. To reduce alarm on time, blow into the unit to clear smoke.
• Check filter in furnace to see if it dirty. For more information
• Air Conditioner - During summer month, clean filter with mild detergent and water. If filter is disposable, replace it.
• Water Softner - Check salt level in softner and add as needed.
• Fire Extinguisher - Check that extinguisher is fully charged.
• Garbage Disposal - Flush with hot water and baking soda.
• Replace damaged or worn electrical cords.
• Test GFCI in kitchen, basement, baths and garages with test button on outlet.
